Kenya has mobile health app fever
Few days ago I wrote about one important tech trend in 2012: DIY Healthcare.
Actually it appears Kenya is already in 2012: a new app called MedAfrica had more than 25.000 downloads since the launch in November, and 60 percent are “active users”. MedAfrica is an app styled like one of the many you can download from App Store, with the same business model based on advertising.

H5N1, Ebola, Influenza, Headache: check the spread of these (and many others) terrible diseases on Sickweather. Registered people could put their symptoms online and see if there are other people affected by the same illnesses in the surroundings. So we can know places to avoid and doctor or experts could track viruses and diseases in real time and prevent worse problems.

Trends for 2012: DIY health
Love or Hate: that’s what DIY inspires. For the former people, 2012 will be a year in which brands and services will push harder towards these practices, also in an uncanny area such as healthcare. We will see more devices, gadgets and a lot of new apps for our smartphones.
How do we feel in 2013? Dead due to our misdiagnoses or amazingly healthy?
