The astonishment of not be sold anything

Everyday we walk on streets completely surrounded by various kinds of advertising: shop signs, bus stop ads, billboards etc. The result of this massive spamming is that our brain started ignoring them, so we notice only a few.
In 2005 Austrian artists Steinbrener/Dempf decided to let streetwalkers experience a “horror vacui” by covering with yellow drapes all the advertising items in a street in downtown Vienna. The resulting project called DELETE! is really baffling.

Absolut Inspire
Augmented Reality will be one of the battlefield of future advertising business: Iris Gavric & Daniel Otterbein proposed an entry for Future Lions 2012 where AR is mixed with art, to create a new environment where street artist could change the urban landscape according to their ideas.
The project is called Absolut Inspire and it is proposed for Absolut Vodka.

Modern Art preservation

Pigments, marble, film were the weapon of choice of artists in the past, but if you go today to a Modern Art exhibit you will hardly find something made with these items.
Contemporary artists use almost everything for their masterpieces: dead animals, food, electronic devices and much more. But as the time goes by, these kinds of artistic expression are becoming a nightmare for art conservators.

Nearly 10% of 2012 Sundance movies raised money on Kickstarter
110 feature-length films and 64 short films were selected to get into 2012 Sundance Film Festival. Of those 174 films selected, 14 of them are Kickstarter projects who received funding by the crowd.
