What will be the Internet without animated GIFs?

My friends and colleagues knows how I love animated GIFs, cinemagraphs above all.
I found this old post about animated GIFs where they are told as:
- a natural part of the web’s ecology;
- a moment in time;
- a mean of expression;
- a vehicle for art & animation;
- a banner of free culture.

Nearly 10% of 2012 Sundance movies raised money on Kickstarter
110 feature-length films and 64 short films were selected to get into 2012 Sundance Film Festival. Of those 174 films selected, 14 of them are Kickstarter projects who received funding by the crowd.

Mad Men are watching you
YOU are browsing for lampshades on a department store’s website. You grow bored, and surf across to the website of your favourite daily newspaper. Mysteriously, the lampshades follow you: an advertisement for the same brand appears next to the article you are reading. Welcome to the world of real-time bidding, a cleverer and nosier way of selling advertising that is beginning to shake up the online media business.
